Listening devices found in south Lebanon
Sun, 18 Oct 2009 16:33:04 GMT
The Lebanese army has discovered three listening devices planted in a valley between the villages of Hula and Mays al-Jabal in southern Lebanon, Alalam reported on Sunday.
Alalam correspondent in Beirut said that the Lebanese army forces blew up one of the devices, and were "working to explode the second one when an Israeli reconnaissance aircraft violated Lebanese airspace" to see what has happened to the first device.
After inspection, the devices turned out to be designed to spy on the Lebanese communication network.
Meanwhile, Lebanese Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri said after meeting Lebanese President Michel Suleiman: "A breakthrough will take place after the continued discussions in the coming few days."
Hariri said he had briefed the president about the discussions on forming a cabinet and that "things are advancing. Everyone wants to see a new cabinet as soon as possible."
