Hamas: Early to talk of prisoner swap
Wed, 25 Nov 2009 13:46:26 GMT
The Palestinian Islamic movement Hams has dismissed speculations that a prisoner exchange with the Israeli regime is imminent, Al-Alam reported.
Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum rejected the issue as a media propaganda, adding it is premature to talk of any swap deal with the occupying regime over the captured Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit.
The Palestinian side has demanded release of hundreds of its prisoners for the release of the Israeli soldier.
The Hamas spokesman, in talks with Al-Alam, faulted the Israeli regime for raising such issues, saying they seek to make Palestinian families of the prisoners lose morale.
Barhoum also said the regime is making efforts to undermine talks over any swap deal.
